“At the end of the world it’s just gonna be Keith Richards and some cockroaches, and Keith would turn to one of the roaches and be like, ‘I once smoked yer uncle, ya know that? Fuckin’ crazy.'”
Les Shroud taught me that 90% of survival is just waiting around trying to find something to eat or do.
Also, don’t drink pee pee.
Life without drinking piss isn’t life, it’s just survival.

Not anymore, he’s like 70+ now. I mean in is prime yeah, and he’s still smart AF in nature. But now a day? He’s more likely looking for bigfoot.
He was my favorite to watch, never enjoyed bear grill’s version.
The person most likely to survive is some scrawny-ass motherfucker with a good immune system. Somebody who can get by on very little food, and can also fight off diseases.
You wouldn’t meet lots of folks though (personally and generally), much less vectors.
Depends on what kind of apocalypse you’re talking about. And most types of apocalypses come with disease spread as a bonus issue, anyway, even if it wasn’t disease that started it in the first place.
You just described the population of India.
The living population, muahahaha
Just gonna be the cockroaches and the junkies
Ah yes, the Survivorman cameraman.
Survivorman (Les Stroud) didn’t have a cameraman; he filmed himself.
I think that’s the joke
The survival GOAT.
That would be PrimitiveTechnology.
Idk, it’s more than building shelters. I like PT, but there’s more to it than that. You got to know what is and isn’t safe to eat, how to signal help(with or without a fire) and obtaining drinking water
All things PrimitiveTechnology has done.
Idk, he’s in the same location. Being able to ID plants from multiple continents isn’t something I think I’ve seen him do
How often are you switching continents in a survival situation? If the world ends, you’re very unlikely to be traveling in between continents or even different areas.
I mean not much, but you may not be where you expect to be.
PT + Eagle Scout. We got this covered.
Bro is the reason I started carrying a multitool
He is also a plesant musican!
Survivorman < Bear Grylls
The former just survives and talks, the latter shows you and teaches you how to survive. It’s not about being alone in the wild in the show, he does crazy shit intentionally and backs his teachings with actions. Drinking moisture from elephant poo solidified Bear as a true badass!
You’re falling for performative shit that wouldn’t realistically save anyone, by a dude that never has his camera crew more than a few mins away.
Les Shroud is the real deal.
Really?
I do a lot of outdoor adventuring and Grylls is a joke. Most of the stuff he does is the dumbest call, worst advice, or just outright unnecessarily stupid. When he does something that actually is valid, you can tell it’s his first time because it’s done so badly and he misses the obvious stuff.
No idea who Survivorman is, but I assume just another TV celebrity that’s found a niche.
Survivorman is the man Bear Grylls wishes he were.
He records his survivals alone without a camera crew and doesn’t do stupid performative shit like Grylls
Survivorman is Les Shroud and he is the real deal. He was a survival expert long before he started to make TV. His whole deal is he just gets dumped somewhere, along with a shitload of camera gear. Then he has to walk out, often walking parts twice to go pick up his cameras.
It’s more about nature with Les and not so much about the surviving part. He does explain a lot about what to do and what not to do, but being in nature and being a part of nature is a large aspect of his show. It isn’t sensationalized, the dangers are never overstated. And he usually has a satphone on him and an agreed time and location for extraction. But he is actually out there for a week all on his own and not like most shows where the crew just drives to a location to shoot a scene and then go back to the hotel later.
Aye, that’s the mentality to have. You are under nature’s thumb so you work with her, not try survive or fight her.
I might check this guy out. Some of the most impactful “survival” methods are very simple things. It’s more about doing these things as you go so you aren’t ever in a survival situation and you can actually spend a long time out there by just being respectful and aware of your situation and environment.
Literally the only useful thing i learned from man vs wild was how to slide down a hill. Its fun as hell.
I saw an episode where he decided to climb up onto some train tracks when he was lost and like headed into a tunnel. They “assumed” there were no trains and then it came last second and they were running and barely made it.
I think it’s obvious bullshit.
Wait I found the clip: https://youtu.be/5jjpRIMn1mM
Why would you ever waste energy doing this in a real situation and it’s obviously staged or edited heavily to me.
Grylls is the guy in the group who breaks his leg on day 2 and has to get carried the rest of the way back to civilization. Don’t do crazy shit if you don’t a camera crew and assistants to bring you back to the nice hotel room in the evening.
I remember seeing a bunch of stuff years ago about people calling out a large part of Man vs Wild for being staged (YouTube link).
Doesn’t matter if it’s staged and he doesn’t also outside, Bear does show you how to do stuff. Les would never jump into quick sand nearly to his neck just to teach you how to get out. Bear would, and did.
Like how old are you seriously
I had to check and make sure the guy wasn’t a troll. Like, I remember refusing to watch him when I was 8 because it looked fake as fuck
In what Loony Toons world does someone need to show you how to escape quicksand?
Loony Toons made me think this was going to be a big problem when I grew up.
