Strips his powers, makes him faint or just weak and nauseous. Blue just takes his powers away either temporarily or permanently Red intoxicates him or enhances his impulsiveness/brashness There are others, but they kind of shift of just don’t exist in the main canon

If that was the case, Superman would have died more than once.
