Tbh if its a social/discussion based website, it will have federal agents monitoring it. Lemmy isn’t free from this either, though in our defense we are probably pretty low on the watchlist (but then again who knows)

    Deleted my account years ago.

    • the new home algorithm is filled with problematic subs, and is an opportunity for algorithmic propaganda
    • After forcing emails it’s been downhill
    • Needing to app for “incognito” is suspicious as hell
    • I do not like their leadership
    • The website runs like crap, and the redesign is not new at all. Every time I see the old design it’s a breath of fresh air and several hundred MB back to my OS.
    • Lately all is filled with US critical posts that get deleted for no stated reason.

Literally the only purpose of doing that bs. A small percentage of users even went to the profiles to prove our case. That’s why they started that bullshit scout looking at post history makes you a loser stalker. Jokes on them i don’t give a fuck of some Nazi thinks I’m a stalker.

Ironically, if you just assume every blocked history is a bot account, that’s better accuracy than before trying to puzzle out the actual history.

The main reason I stay there are niche subreddits.

Even bigger ones are dead here.

I saw that 2-3year ago people try to copy paste stuff from reddit, but I see its discontinued.

      What happend?

That was when Reddit killed their API for apps and started charging money for it. It lead to the first lemmy exodus.

Around that time there was a lot of attempts to build community and some people felt it was useful to bootstrap lemmy with Reddit content.

It mostly resulted in a lot of dead end posts and crap, so I think it got dialled back a lot. It was a lot of noise that people hated/defederated from.

I’ve made it a game of copy/pasting entire statements Republican politicians have made about healthcare into threads about police brutality and civil rights and getting multi-day suspended.

The first four years or so that I was on Reddit, I never once received a ban for anything. Since Trump was elected, I pretty much got temp bans every couple of months. Every one was from me being mean to obvious Russian trolls. And then this morning, I got permanently banned for a comment I made over a week ago, that according to Reddits own metrics, received a grand total of zero views. I called a fascist a, um, fascist, and that he wasn’t just licking boots, he was deep throating them. That was a step too far, according to Reddit. And now I’m here.

they have palintir bots which they know about but wont do anything, plus russian propaganda is almost rarely get cleaned out when they do actual purges, which targets real users instead. they also now have israeli mods/bots to gatekeep criticism against israel. all the purges have target the lowest hanging fruits, irl users, than OF/link spamming the ones that are cutting into thier profits somehow.

You don’t honestly think that DHS doesn’t know Lemmy exists, do you? If they’re monitoring Reddit, you’d have to be a fool to not realize that they’re probably here, too.

Let’s face it. If you want to be invisible to DHS right now, just find an old article from the daily stormer or something and start posting far left stuff in the comments. This admin is going to go faaaaaaaar out of their way to avoid pissing off the nationalist hate groups that give their stochastic terrorism some real teeth.

Reddit has been leaking information to the feds for ages. They had a warrant canary that is no more, it has ceased to be, and bereft of life, it rests in peace since 2015: https://www.aclu.org/news/privacy-technology/bye-bye-birdie-reddits-warrant-canary-disappears

It has been a while since spez sold himself out completely. Leaking user information to special interests is part of the silent agreement that has kept them from being under investigation, but it also has gotten him invited to the sort of Epstein gatherings that other Silicon Valley tech bros have gotten invited to.

These newsletters come out all the damn time and are relatively easy to get signed up for these Fusion Center briefs. You can generally apply if you have at least a remote level of need for them either through physical security, or cyber security.

They’re typically based on SAR (suspicious activity reporting), so they’re essentially briefs and generally tip guides about things that might be happening in your state or area. All those tips that you send via tips.fbi.com or similar tend to make their way to your local fusion center. They get marked down for relevant current political climate stuff from multiple agencies, typically include thwarted terrorist events or online calls for action, and will usually training available.

While most of the info in these newsletters are For Official Use Only, there’s a lot that might straight up be publicly available which can still be shared under the CUI Program. You just can’t share the entire document itself since it’s typically unclassified, but that doesn’t mean you can share it publicly. Parts of it maybe, it’ll tell you which parts you can. It’s similar to Traffic Light Protocol for any CISA stuff if you get those. TLP Clear is capable of being publicly released. Everything else has some sort of limitation.

Got permabanned for up voting a post about ice having their secret identities found out as it was ‘inciting violence’. Because law enforcement should be protected from public backlash as the piss on the Constitution and practice illegal acts on people, it seems to reddit mods.
