Phones are painstakingly designed for idiots to use in idiotic situations. They literally build them so idiots can take them in the bath.

That said, this woman is a keeper, and the dude that said “bye” is a dummy.

With things like rain, deserts and humidity existing, any phone should be IP64 at least, so it’s paranoid to expect it to fail near a bath. Meanwhile many modern phones are IP67, meaning you can literally put them under water.

So who’s the idiot here, the person using a device within its specifications so they can have more fun, or someone still stuck in the 00s ?

idk, I’ve fixed a lot of phones that people take into baths or showers. constant exposure will wear down the seals and there’s a reason they’re water resistant not waterproof. plus if you’ve ever had any repair done even by an authorized provider that water resistance goes out the window.

totally agree, I just mention it cause a lot of people put a lot more worth on it then they should. ime shops that advertise being authorized are more scummy then the average 3rd party repair shop.

I don’t know who you’re calling an idiot back in the early 2000s I had a phone that died because it got rained on. Not even a lot of rain.

Waterproofing is necessary just generally. Even if you assume it’s never going to get dropped in a puddle it needs to be splash proof at least.
