Hey guys,

I recently bought some “RØDE Wireless Pro”-microphones for better audio-quality and it seems, that their software “RØDE Central” (which is needed for some stuff) is only available for Windows.

For now, I helped myself with creating a virtual machine (running Windows 10) which works good, but I think, that this solution is unacceptable for a device which costs ~300€.

My fault to not check it before, but unfortunately it’s too late for a return. I have hopes, that some skilled linux-gods found a practical solution for this. Using Debian btw.

This will sound stupid (I imagine you have already tried it)…

Does running it under wine work?

Last time I tried, I had no luck unfortunately…

Would love to hear if (and how) anyone actually made it work properly under wine!

you can use WinBoat to make it feel native and natural. besides that, there really isn’t much to do…

        Good luck!

          Thanks, I will try it!

Hopefully Linux gets relevant enough, so that even the last company feels the need to provide a proper linux installer.

WinBoat is just a Windows VM. So it will work but you won’t be able to connect it to anything that’s not also in that VM. Might as well just dual boot Windows.

Last time I checked, I had issues to delete the audio-recordings from the device, when only connected to Linux. Maybe it was read-only or something like that (sudo rm didn’t work).
