TBF, with all the AI filters out there, yeah, that’s Pink for me right there.

I don’t think it’s about popularity of opinions. Popularity of opinions vary with context, Sheeran would have received an ovation if he did that shit in Israel, but that’s not it. I’m tired of the mob mentality too. Nevertheless, the issue is moral, and in this case, ethical. Even ethics change with context, but on things like genocide, it is pretty much universal. It’s not even about his opinions about Gaza, it’s about him revealing this network of people and entities that simply do not think a genocide is happening, because they don’t think Israel is killing actual people, actual children.
Whatever happens with Sheeran, as long as it’s legal, I don’t care. I don’t want him killed, but rescinding contracts is legal. Also, I didn’t care about him before, now I think he is a coward.
British people are not particularly attractive and classy, but they are not particularly overweight.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Linux Mint reveals new calendar and ebook reader apps
4·24 days agoMint does actually listen to their community. Maybe they found out these apps were lacking some functionality. I can understand they would want xapps for calendar and reading. I currently use Qt apps, other than GNOME calendar, can’t remember a decent app for calendar and eBook reading outside Qt.
That’s how everything in the internet works nowadays. I just can’t do it. Everyone (mostly bots I suspect) seem to want to get pissed off or feel themselves like correct or interesting.
TBF the OP is not dated. Nevertheless, how does it work? Once they surge the price, one drunk guy will probably just accept it, mindlessly, while a more sober foe will probably tap FUCK NO, and try again. Maybe that’s the algorithm, the good old capitalist pig algorithm.

2·4 months agoI used to make use of a 64 GB RAM machine that still swapped like crazy, because I’m a shitty programmer (not really my field). I totally destroyed my SSD by swapping daily huge amounts of data, but the thing survived the whole process. Of course it died, but under normal circumstances I can’t see why people would be preoccupied for wearing their SSDs.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Example of bi-eraser on reddit the title said soul mate dont mean lover. Like bloody fucking hell they were indeed lovers. Freddie Mercury was Bisexual
10·4 months agoHe really, absolutely loved her, and she did love him profoundly back. After this, it gets complicated. Maybe she couldn’t bear knowing he was having sex relationships with men. Maybe the issue was the AIDS wave from one or both of their perspectives; Freddy wouldn’t risk her or she wouldn’t risk herself. Maybe she demanded monogamy and he couldn’t give her that. It’s complicated.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Steam competitors be like. [Extended?]
2·5 months agoIt’s not. You can still buy from the others if you want to be treated like shit, excepting GOG, in my opinion. Consoles are true monopolies, because you can only choose if you want to buy a console and marry to its store, now that physical media is becoming a rarity.
They have a big fraction of the market because they are efficient at selling what people want. I don’t like it, I believe Newell, specifically, is profiting greedily from Valve’s situation, but shit, this is not even a natural monopoly.
Disclaimer: I’m an agnostic. Also, the Evangelists are supposed to write as if God himself was in control of their writing, so, effectively, it would be God himself writing those words.
