  • I’ve been daily driving Bazzite with Gnome too for the last few weeks! It works perfectly fine, but I was weirdly unhappy with the aesthetic of it, despite knowing for a fact that I love Gnome, especially the bare-bones Gnome that CachyOS has.
I only found out about Gnome extensions a few days ago while trying to get rid of the ugly Bazzite Logo in my top bar. It’s probably super obvious to anyone else, but those extensions make such a huge difference and playing around with different ones is absolutely worth it!
OP, if you do end up going with Bazzite, go to the “Extension Manager” and toggle a few of those on or off to see the difference! Getting new ones is super easy too!

  • Oh, good to know! I went from Win10 straight to Linux on my PC, and never needed it on my Win11 Work Computer, so I didn’t know about that.

Random sidenote, programming Paint yourself is an amazing beginner project! It’s easy to explain, gives quick visual feedback when you change parameters and is very open-ended so that you can be very creative in expanding on it. I’ve let like half a dozen interns do that and they were very excited about it every time haha

  • My team has moved to a thing we call “ScrumBan” and it’s worked pretty well. There still are 15-min Dailies, and a Review and a Retrospective each Sprint, but we cut almost all meetings that are about sitting around and “planning” tasks (aka awful 7-hour meetings where everyone just zones out and guesses random story point numbers). Instead, tasks are planned and moved to the board on demand and never in the presence of the entire team. It gives everyone so much more time to just focus on their work.

  • The starbucks in my area used to sell the mugs that they also used in-store. They were gigantic (like 700ml?), completely white ceramic with a very subtle logo and only cost 10€ each. They’re also extremely dishwasher proof because they were made to be washed like a dozen times a day. After like 6 or 7 years of use (we got them pre-covid), they still look like new and I regret only buying 2 of them at the time.

Ironically, I haven’t actually ever bought a drink at starbucks. I only bought the mugs because I saw them while picking up a Too Good To Go order there one time

  • Man Sertraline used to fuck me up pretty bad. Like crying every day and not doing anything else. My doctor still insisted on dosing me up to 150mg. Quitting it was awful too, I was nauseous for a week straight.
Nowadays I’m much better on Adderall and a Beta Blocker to keep my heart rate in check
