I don’t think you’re insulting the right audience here.
I kinda like Earth.
It’s the only planet that has kittens.
It’s actually the expiration date of the plastic container.

1·1 day agoWhen corporations or conservatives talk about “the economy”, simply replace it with “rich people’s bank accounts” and it makes sense again.
They are trying to gaslight you into still believing in the trickle-down-theory, against decades of evidence.
And all mainstream media as well as centrist parties (including the US Democrats) join in.
In many countries they don’t even ask. They recognize your accent and reply in English right away.

4314·2 days agoThis is bad enough that a serious company that wanted to salvage their reputation properly might wanna consider putting in some weekend overtime.
Frankly, no. Correcting an article about a blog post isn’t important enough to force your workers to sacrifice their weekends.
That should be reserved to life-and-death emergencies.
Depends on time and place, of course. Peasants in the late medieval period in England ate more meat than we do today (about 40% of their calories).
In America, a birth in hospital costs $18000 on average.

9·4 days agoMy last boss was a bit like this.
He owned a small company with 7 employees, paid himself less than he paid us, and was in more debt than his house was worth.
So on paper he had less income and a lower net worth than me.But he still lived in a big house while I was renting.
And the company was growing as well.
I still wouldn’t want to trade places with him.
I like my 30 days off plus sick days, where I can turn my phone off.
