Why? Do you have evidence that suggests otherwise? Is there a particular reason you’re so adamant that China’s system must be worse than the commodified system we have in the west?

You have to exist to be murdered in the first place.
What do you mean by that and what does it have to do with the meme?
Their comment was removed but if they’re referring to the tiny boxes I think they are (known as coffin homes), that’s actually in Hong Kong which is notably still very capitalist.
Uh if the 90% overall homeownership rate isn’t “backing it up” I want to know how you define “better”
lmfao a western-backed “freedom index” is not a substitution for media literacy, nor does it excuse you from providing literally any material evidence to support your argument.
Also, do you want to explain why Israel is ranked at 112; 50 places above Venezuela and Palestine; and why Saudi fuckin Arabia is right there between VZ and PA? Seems to me like this “freedom index” doesn’t correlate very well with democracy or human rights, much less evidence-based journalism or state transparency.
Also the tank is very clearly leaving the square in that video, if you’ve seen any imagery of the area it’s immediately recognizable. (Besides that; it also doesn’t make sense that the street is so clear, that close to the square, because the military did encounter serious resistance going in. I wonder why we don’t see that imagery floating around 🤔)
He’s not standing in the way of them to protest the intervention before it started, he’s demanding that the tanks turn around and remain present in the square some time after everything that had occurred.
Nobody is coming to save you, you must save yourself. Nobody is ever going to be more interested in your liberation than you are.
If that day comes, do you really think that the absence of your name on a roster is going to stop them? Obedience in advance only teaches authority what it can get away with. The capabilities of authority generally are much less far-reaching than what they lead us to believe. Oppression breeds resistance and struggle, whereas the state would have us believe in the fantasy of unilateral control and suppression of dissent.
You owe it to yourself to study revolutionary history beyond just the most shocking events that scare you away from organizing. In the words of the late assata shakur; It is our duty to fight. It is our duty to win. We must love each other and support each other. We have nothing to lose but our chains.
What do you think they’re doing in all those ICE facilities whose watchdogs have been dismantled? If they’re not there yet they’re surely gearing up to go there.
The US prison system is already a slave labor racket
I guess I’m not really sure what you’re disagreeing with? You asked, I answered. This is quite possibly the stupidest thing I’ve ever wasted my time thinking about though so literally who gives a fuck put your stupid trash can wherever you’d like it to be.
A can on the floor would be super impractical.
There needs to be one in every stall (imagine having to find somewhere to set down a soaked feminine product so you can finish up, and then leave the stall with it in your hand 🙃 a gendered bathroom is one thing but either way I imagine you’d have way more folks just opting to flush. Best case scenario, it gets wrapped in a wad of toilet paper that also has to be supplied and attended to.)
There’s only so many places on a stall floor to put a trash can. Next to the toilet is out of sight enough that you’re gonna have more flushed tampons. Next to the door is in the way enough to get kicked and knocked over. In a larger stall it could easily end up out of reach.
You’d also be asking a janitor to move a trash can out of the way and replace it in every stall every time they mop, on top of bending down to clean and change each one.
On that note, anything that gets on the floor will also get on the trash can, meaning any metal will probably be exposed to corrosives (urine, cleaning chemicals, even standing water).
Even in terms of cost; the ones on the wall can be as cheap as cutting, bending, and installing a piece of sheet metal, and will basically last the lifetime of the stall.
I honestly can’t think of a single good reason for it to be anywhere else.

1·2 months agoSo did you just miss all the material conditions for that famine you’re so concerned about, and the recovery from those conditions creating hope for NK’s future in contrast to SK, or are you just ignoring those parts so you can feel justified in your browbeating and characterization of the DPRK as a failed authoritarian state that is actually deserving of the previously mentioned conditions that caused the famine.
I don’t see how 34K people “defecting” in only one direction proves anything beyond the fact that economic conditions were pretty tough, which isn’t in dispute. Honestly that 0.13% is a pretty low figure if we’re supposed to believe that, on top of the economic hardship, their “authoritarian state” is so brutal as to be “worse than the disease” that has more and more resulted in south koreans having so little hope for the future that they’re ceasing to bring children into the world.
You realize you can type “china homeownership rate” into any search engine and find a wealth of information? Even from outlets that are generally deeply biased against China. It’s a pretty strong consensus.
Waiting for information to come to you is only going to expose you to narratives that someone has a vested interest in putting in front of you. Someone that’s trained and paid to pander to you is going to do it a lot better than a regular well-meaning person that belongs to your class and shares your material interests.
