Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•I saw your face in a crowded place
4·20 days agoHonestly I miss early AI.
I miss the ugly art. I miss the weird tangents. I miss Will Smith eating spaghetti and consuming himself.
I know you can set up a quick AI to relive this… But it was better when it was the norm.

39·1 month agoFor things before 2023, there was sexual harassment (multiple) bullying and hostile workplace and their excitement over NFT. They had a boys club and made it a really toxic atmosphere, where the CCO literally said “Women don’t sell”.

7·1 month agoThe best way from my perspective is to show them.
At tech events and meetups, I’m showing them Linux.
When my friends come over, I show them my self hosted solutions on a Linux.
At work, where we use Macs, we talk about open-source, including Linux.

4·1 month agoWhat does age verification mean for VPNs?
Because if I’m using a VPN using a UK server and I get any issues, I can switch to Spain, or Italy, or Zimbabwe or whatever. Is that not the case?

Technology@lemmy.world•Google pays $68M to settle claims its voice assistant spied on usersEnglish
10·1 month ago$68 million is chump change to Google.
This is like me getting a speeding fine for $1.
This is the cost of doing business for them.
I like to make extra rice to turn into fried rice.
And then I realize I don’t really like fried rice and I freeze that.
My rule of thumb is if the menu has like 300 items and written with size 10 font, rice is going to be included and will be idiot sized.
If there’s only 15 items, or the menu has the word “Asian fusion”, then assume rice is extra and will be like a small non-sharable bowl.

231·2 months agoThe court order, which was previously reported by TorrentFreak, was issued by Judge Michael Watson in US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. “Plaintiff has established that Defendant crashed its website, slowed it, and damaged the servers, and Defendant admitted to the same by way of default,” the ruling said.
US court. Where is Anna’s Archive located?
Because with the state of America right now, every country should be giving the US Courts the finger. We’re pretty much a rogue nation now.
