  • After reading remarks from libs on Lemmy, I want to point out two things:

    1. No significant number of leftists would vote for a real estate mogul turned fascist gameshow host. If you believe otherwise, it’s likely because it makes thinking about the US political situation easier by giving you another illiberal fall guy.

    2. Voting in the US is a pastiche of democratic participation, made to look like we’ve been handed all we need to make the democracy machine go brrr. We revere it so much because it’s the best we’ve ever had, but other braver and more imaginative people have tried more direct, less capitalistic methods of democracy, usually before being crushed, libelled, bombed or couped by the US and its allies. If Americans ever find the backbone to collectively fight and make sacrifices for something better, future generations might have a chance of not growing up in the most grotesque, inhuman future imaginable. Libs can help with this, but you’re the only ones who can decide whether you put your efforts toward capitalism or democracy. They’re like oil and water.

  • Someone mentioned that this looks like a beginner-friendly version of Void. I’ve been using Void for a few months now and calling me an intermediate user would be a bit of a stretch. Void is very easy to use, mostly because it rarely breaks or crashes. You almost never have to pop the hood, and anything can be searched online. I think a user would be better off using Void, but do what you want.
