tldr mostly from memory:

They made it seem like they were big donors or have a grant program to some open-source projects. This was not true, in some cases they were talking about a one time 1000 euro donation iirc. And the projects that supposedly received these grants knew nothing of them.

They are also quite happy to give far-right fascists a platform, saying they are “not a political organisation”.

There are a few popular options, but i haven tried them personally yet:

It makes sense if you want to concatenate strings, which is probably pretty much what happens when you type that into the path input.

This way, you could create a string like “D:/%appdata%/local/minecraft” Whereas without the trailing %, you would need a space to separate it from the text, which would result in “D:/Users/Public/AppData /local/minecraft”.

You could just symlink the directory to one on the other drive, problem solved. I probably wouldn’t symlink the whole AppData directory, that might break things, but just that specific games directory.

And yeah, you’ll want to store it. We’ve got batteris for that.

Yes so of course my actual opinion is a little more nuanced than this. I absolutely see the uses of AI, I won’t deny that. I just fundamentally disagree with the way it is being used right now (by which I mean the gas-turbine-powered datacenters it requires, the noise pollution they create, the unethical/outright illegal acquiring of training data.

If you’re using a local model, whose training did not deprive actual people of huge amounts of water or electricity, and did not use stolen data, I’m all for it. But most people aren’t, they’re using ChatGPT or Gemini or whatever Microsoft is making.

Continuing your analogy, this would be like flying rockets manufactured by the third reich, not other companies using the same technologies.

Those gl flatpaks are actually the display drivers. Flatpak doea not use any system libraries, it has to depend on a flatpak for everything, but most things are already in org.freedesktop.Platform, but not nvidia drivers of course.

And so long as it’s not tls encrypted, which i sure hope it is. Afaik the only way to snoop that is to play MITM and forge a certificate or something.
