I’ve worked in manufacturing plants for the last almost 20 years. One packaging line will produce more waste in a day than you can hope to counter.

3·5 days agoI buy a lot of Dell refurb laptops to use in cheap timing setups for rfid chip timing. Recently they had to start selling some without an OS because they literally are stuffing anything they can find into them and Windows refuses to install without drivers.

I just set up a brand new windows laptop last night for our run ing club. Refurb straight from Dell. It downloaded updates and installed updates as part of the installation. That was easily 45 minutes. Then it booted up and it had more updates. 2 more reboots and all of those were done. 2.5 hours from unboxing to done (4:27PM to 6:51Pm).
CachyOS install is 15 minutes rounding up and it’s blazing fast.

A lot of young pigeons aren’t learning proper building techniques and it’s really a shame.
This nest probably took half as long to build too. The sticks never fell off, they fall at structurally sound angles and the tension as they stack allowed for less sticks to be used to achieve the same height.

I’ve seen a plant drain an entire towns water tower down to 12 inches. Not feet. Inches. They had to pay to truck in water. And all it was doing was running through a chiller and into the drain. Not even grey water.
